This Thursday night sees us back on the road as we travel to our friends at Basildon United for our 6th pre-season friendly at The Ho Ho Stadium as part of our upcoming preparations for the 2018/19 Vanarama National League South campaign.
We also come into this game following a 1-0 victory over Folkestone Invicta on Tuesday night whilst the Bees come into this off a 4-3 defeat to Essex Senior League side Enfield 1893 on Tuesday night.
The Bees finished 2nd in the Essex Senior League in Marc Harrison’s first season as manager which also saw the club get promoted whilst several members of our league and cup winning Under 18’s squad were on dual registration with them. They will be looking to make an impact in their first season back in the Isthmian North this season.
Admission for the game is set at £5 Adults, £3 Concessions and Free for Under 16’s. Kick-off is at 8pm.
Getting to the ground via public transport is weird stuff. Getting to The Ho Ho Stadium from Concord Island via public transport will result in you having to either get the 22 to Basildon or get the train from Benfleet. Getting the train cuts at least 25 minutes off your journey time if required. You will then need to get a Number 5 bus upto the Jolly Friar which will take 14 minutes from Basildon Bus Station before walking for 11 minutes.
Driving should only take 20 minutes from Concord Island. Use the A130 to get off the island and afterwards use the A13 upto the Pitsea Tesco flyover. Take the left before you reach the bridge and follow the A132 upto the roundabout which has the Partyman World Of Play on the right hand side. Turn left when you reach that onto the A1235 and then follow the road upto Gardeners Lane South. Take a right and carry on upto your first left before driving into Gardeners Close. The stadium and carpark should be on your right.
