This Tuesday night sees us welcome Bognor Regis Town at The Aspect Arena in another crucial National League South fixture which was rearranged following a late referee’s decision in March to postpone the match due to a “waterlogged pitch”.
The first fixture at Nyewood Lane saw our hosts in 21st place whilst we were lying in 17th in which first half goals from Lewis Taaffe and Khale Da Costa secured a 2-1 victory in December 2017.
We come into this game following a 2-1 defeat at Braintree Town on Saturday afternoon and lie in 18th place whilst our visitors come into this off a 3-2 defeat to Hemel Hempstead Town on Saturday which ultimately relegated them back to the Isthmian League. They are placed in 22nd.
A win for the Beachboys would mean we would consolidate our place in 18th with 43 points and potentially a point off Oxford City. It could also provide a gap for us over Hungerford Town who are joint on points with us but currently below us in the table by 5 more goals having been conceded (We play Hungerford in a weeks’ time whilst they travel to Truro this Tuesday night).
20th placed Poole Town welcome Hampton & Richmond. The situation is as follows: IF they lose that and WE win, we will need 1 more point to secure safety for another season and that could be done on Saturday when we welcome Poole to The Aspect Arena.
Whitehawk could also be relegated back to the Isthmian League if they lose at Braintree Town this Tuesday night. They could’ve been relegated on Saturday had they suffered defeat against Welling but yet again, they defied the odds with a 2-1 victory.
We wish a safe journey to everyone from Bognor Regis and hope they have an enjoyable night!
