CONCORD goalkeeper Jamie Butler has earned a dream call-up to the England C side after a string of impressive displays.

The 22-year-old will meet up with the national squad for a training session at St George’s Park next weekend.

He will be hoping to secure a starting place for the Challenge Trophy Group A qualification schedule this winter, with an away game against Turkey on Tuesday, October 14, and then a visit from Estonia on Tuesday, November 18.

Butler has been watched several times by England C scouts, including in this season’s opening day win over Dover.

It concludes an interesting few days for Butler, who was forced off with a head injury in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Wealdstone.

Concord chairman Antony Smith tweeted: “Very proud for our club and our keeper after Jamie Butler was called up to the England C squad. #CongratsJ.”
