Concord having drawn their last seven league games host Chippenham Town for the first ever fixture between the sides at the Aspect Arena.
The hosts break their duct of draws with a magnificent win over a 10 man Chippenham. It were the visitors who took the lead against the run of play as a right sided cross was knocked into the path of Alex Ferguson who tapped home from close range.
Parity was gained quickly when Ben Greenhalgh swung a perfect free kick which Lewis Knight nodded, a looping header over keeper Jared Thompson into the far corner.
The Bluebirds retook the lead, when Will Richards headed powerfully into the roof of the net straight from a pin point corner.
From this point on though it was all about Concord who took the game by the scruff of the neck. The equaliser was neat, Greenhalgh cutting in off the right and swinging a low left footer inside the far left corner.
They took the lead soon after after Dean Evans saw red for Chippenham. A rash challenge bringing down the sharp Khale Da Costa was his second bookable offensive. Greenhalgh placed the resulting free kick onto the head of Knight who flicked his header beyond Thompson again for the lead.
Knight thought he’d scored his hat trick moments after the restart, meeting a left sided corner with a strong right foot crashing against the crossbar.
Amos Nasha came agonisingly close when scooping a left footed effort which somehow hit one post, trickling across the goal line and hitting the opposite post.
Knight, Greenhalgh, Femi Akinwande and Nasha all saw good chances fail before the latter put the game to bed. A drilled twenty yard strike which saw Thompson get a hand to, but not enough to stop it from hitting the net.
Captain Steve Cawley saw a injury time chip beat the keeper but also the crossbar.
