FORMER Southend United hero and current Millwall manager Neil Harris will be among the experts overseeing trials for Concord Rangers’ successful youth teams.

The retired Shrimpers striker will also be joined by Concord captain Tony Stokes as the Beachboys look for future stars at the event bewteen 9.30am and midday on Saturday, May 16.

Concord’s new first team manager Adam Flanagan is to be in attendance to see the trial games at the Post Office Ground, Gardiners Way, Basildon.

Harris’ Rayleigh Boys youth team will be representing Concord’s Under-14s next season in the Eastern Junior Alliance.

Concord are also looking for new recruits for their county cup winning Under-15s – next season’s Under-16s, current Under-14s, and next year’s Under-15s, and their successful Under-18s side managed by first team player Gary Ogilvie.

It is an open invitation and you can show up on the day, with trials for Under-7s through to Under-18s also taking place.

Concord’s community officer Phil Crowe said: “It will be an opportunity to join the growing success story that is our youth set up.

“It is a key part of this club’s strategy going forward and we want to encourage players from all over Essex to come and see what we have to offer.”
