The Beachboys have been handed a home draw with old adversaries Lowestoft Town in the next round of the FA Trophy, with the game to take place on 12th December at the Aspect Arena.

We caught up with the manager Adam Flanagan to discuss Saturday’s win over Sutton, the next round and how windy it was on Saturday!

Through to the next round but how hard was Saturday’s game against Sutton?

“I think Saturday was very tough, not only due to the team we played, but also the playing conditions. We have played better recently, but our performance was ok against a strong and powerful Sutton team.”

The draw earlier today saw us pulled out to play old rivals Lowestoft…thoughts?

“Lowestoft are a well supported and run club and under the leadership of manager Ady Gallagher have progressed through the non-league not too dissimilar to ourselves.  Both sides have done battle a number of times, and I expect it to be a tough game on 12th December.”

We’ve got Sutton again on Saturday this time in the league, can we expect any changes?

“We had a few players who were cup-tied on Saturday so it will be nice to have them back in contention.  I expect it will be similar for Sutton on Saturday as well, and it will be another tough game, but hopefully without the wind this time!”

Have you ever managed/played in wind as strong as that in the past?

“I think I have played in worse…but definitely not managed! It was by far the worst conditions I have managed a side in and hopefully that will never happen again haha!!”
