Monday 1st March 2010 Our Joint Managers, Danny Scopes and Danny Cowley have won the Ryman Football League Division 1 Nth February Manager
of the Month award. __________________________________________________________ Friday 12th February 2010 We have received the official letter from the Ryman Football League disqualifying us from progressing
to the 4th Round of the Championship Manager Cup . We were not totally surprised with their decision but we thought
them knowing the genuine circumstances they would have been lenient with the £100 fine that went along with the
disqualification. As I mentioned on the 7th Feb the three substitutes registrations plus another three players
registrations were faxed to the League but the League are saying that they received six blank pages they knew
had come from Concord Rangers, surely you would have expected that someone from the Leagues office would have contacted
us to find out why six blank pages had been received by them. We can now concentrate on the League and finishing
in a play-off position. The Club would like to congratulate the players who were successful on the night when they
beat Billericay Town 2 - 0 as they did not deserve to go out of the competition in this manner. ______________________________________________________ Sunday 7th February 2010 There have been some changes in the fixtures due to postponements. We now play
Ilford, away on Monday 15th February and Waltham Forest at home on Wednesday 17th February. _________________________________________________________ Sunday 7th February 2010 There is a Ryman League meeting on 8th February when Concord could
be disqualified from the League Cup 4th Round due to the League not receiving the registration forms of the substitutes
for the game we won against Billericay last Thursday 4th Feb. We have proof that the forms were faxed to the League
on Monday 1st Feb but they were not received by the League. A letter has been received from the League yesterday
and we will be responding today. __________________________________________ Monday 25th January 2010 The long awaited Ryman League Cup 3rd Round match against Premier Division
Billericay Town has now been arranged to play on Thursday 4th February at our Thames Road ground, Kick Off 7.45pm _______________________________________________________ Monday 11th January 2010 Both
the first team and reserve teams games scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday this week have been postponed. _______________________________________________________ Wednesday 6th January The game against
Billericay Town in the League Cup was postponed last night, a new date is to be arranged tonights reserve game
against Chelmsford City suffered the same situation. Nikki Beale could not see an immediate return to first team
football and has therefore transfered to Great Wakering, we wish him well. ______________________________________________________ Thursday 31st December The scheduled game
against East Thurrock Utd on Tuesday 29th December was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The home
League game against Waltham Forest on Tuesday 5th January will have to be rearranged as we will now
play Billericay Town in the League Cup on that evening at Thames Road. _______________________________________________________ Wednesday 23rd December Concord Rangers v Billericay Town Game Postponed due to waterlogged and icy pitch. New
date to be arranged. ______________________________________________ Monday 21st December The League Cup game against Billericay Town scheduled for tomorrow
has been rearranged and is now to be played on Wednesday, this will give us an extra day to work on the pitch, lets
hope we can get the game on. _______________________________________________________ Saturday 19th
December Today's match against Ware FC was called off due to a frozen pitch. _________________________________________________________ Friday 4th December We have today cancelled the registrations of Steve Butterworth who has moved to
Aveley FC, Kevin Watson who has moved to VCD Athletic and Ashley-Paul Robinson. We have signed three new players, Steve
King a dual signing with Welling Utd, Clydie Roberts joins us from Aveley FC and Ashley Miller who was with West
Ham Utd. __________________________________________________________ Sunday 22nd November Although we lost away to Hampton and Richmond in the F A Trophy, I have to say we never gave up, and we were probably
the better team over the 90 minutes, however a couple of costly mistakes made the difference between the two sides. Nevertheless
an excellent performance from the lads, and lets take this sort of never say die attitude into our next game away
to Enfield in the league on Tuesday evening.
Sunday 22nd November We have a good draw for our supporters in the
next round of the Ryman League Cup known this season as the Championship Manager Cup, when on Tuesday 8th
December we play Billericay Town at home. _____________________________________________________ Saturday
14th November New signing Ashley-Paul Robinson has joined us this week from Harlow Town, he was due to
be in the squad today but unfortunately the game against Brentwood Town was postponed. ______________________________________________ Saturday 7th November We are missing two guys at our games, Jack Smith, Club Treasurer who has been with Concord for many years and who rarely misses a game but is laid up at present in Hospital with
a collapsed lung, hurry up and get better Jack and let us see you back watching us.
Cliff Mills who
is also suffering at present, again get well soon Cliff and let's see you on the terraces supporting the lads soon. ______________________________________________________ Friday 6th November The
draw for the 4th Round of the Essex Senior Cup was made today and we play Maldon Town at home. The date of the game
has just been arranged and will be played on Saturday 1st December and the League game due to be played on that day will now
be played on 22nd December . _________________________________________________________ Monday 2nd November We have been drawn to play Hampton & Richmond in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the
FA Trophy, The match is scheduled to be played on Saturday 21st November away at their Beveree Stadium. Hampton &
Richmond are currently 14th in the Blue Square South and are managed by ex West Ham player, Alan Devonshire. ____________________________________________________________ Sunday 1st November A very good 2-0 win yesterday against an exceptional Enfield Town side, at last we were all
witness to a great performance, something we all believed this team where capable off, and finally we got it. The Danny's
made a number of changes as expected with Skelton, Heale, and Williams coming back in to the starting line-up, with Taylor
suspended, and Hayzleden injured, Beale went to left back with last season's centre back partnership coming back together
again, and Dave Collins moving forward to to the left of midfield, and did this line-up work, all over the park we battled,
and even when we under pressure, you never felt nervous, as our back four stood firm, the midfield won a lot
ball all afternoon, and our strikers worked tirelessly. All I can say great performance, roll on next Saturday.
Wednesday 28th October A good win last night at Saffron
Walden, with us coming out 3-0 winners, and taking us through to the next round. As reported earlier this week the two Danny's
made changes to Saturdays team, a few more than we may have expected, however this just shows the strength, and the faith
the Danny's have in the squad, and of course this also gives them the opportunity to see the form of the rest
of the squad, and with the added bonus of giving some of his regulars a well earned rest. With Enfield our
opponents on Saturday in the F A Trophy, I think we can expect much more of game, and once again a number of changes from
last night's line-up. On a lighter note, I was sitting near our dug out last night, when Danny Cowley turned to his
bench in his own commanding way, and declared that Lyle Taylor's turn of pace reminded him of his own explosive turn of
speed when he played, which certainly raised a smile or two among the bench, with Danny Heale almost falling off his seat,
well Dan all I can say is with that much pace in the management team, I can't wait for Saturday, and the sprint to the
bench.
Sunday 25th October With
defeat in the league yesterday, aganist Leyton, we look to pick ourselves up when we travel on Tuesday evening to Saffron
Walden in the Essex Senior Cup. I think we can expect changes for the cup game, as the two Danny's may well rest
some of the regulars, to give other players in the squad a game.
Tuesday 20th October Concord's young exciting
player, Lyle Taylor has now signed a contract with the Club. ___________________________________________________________ Monday 19th October The third qualifying round of the FA Trophy has now been drawn, and we are at home to Enfield
Town, this is to be played on Saturday 31st October.
Sunday 18th October For
all you supporters that travelled to the VCD game, I hope you are all relaxing after hard fought end to end game, that kept
us on tender hooks until the final whistle. The two Danny's made a couple of enforced changes with captain Nicky Cowley
(Groin) being replaced by Jack Carlile, and Danny Hayzeldon (Shoulder) position being taken by Dave Collins himself returning
after injury sustained towards the end of last season, so it was good to see him back at last.
Saturday 17th October Having
spoken with our skipper, Nicky Cowley he informed me that he should be back to full fitness in about two weeks, Nicky is currently
out with a tear in his groin. __________________________________________________________ Tuesday 13th October
We have been drawn to play Saffron Walden Town in the Essex Senior Cup they play in the Ridgeons Eastern Counties
League Div 1. Last season we managed to reach the final of the competition which was played at Dagenham & Redbridges
ground where we lost 2 - 0 to Chelmsford City with a weakened side through injuries and suspensions, the lads who
came in gave a great account of themselves. ______________________________________________________________ Saturday
10th October The first team beat VCD Athletic 1-0 , with a missed penalty from both sides, there where glimpses of
how Concord can really play, but as to often this season, we have a knack of making it hard for ourselves, however on the
bright side another win under our belts, and not to long to wait for the next instalment with a home game against Romford
on Tuesday evening, sorry to say I will be away, but I will be eagerly waitng for the phone call with the result.
Thursday 8th October I
welcome my relations, Paula, Peter and Dan who are over from Australia and are hoping to see Concord play while they
are here.
Wednesday 30th September Just a quick line we beat Harlow Town 7-0 last night, in a very
one sided game, with Harlow having two men sent off late in the second half.
Monday 28th September With Potters
Bar Town having progressed to the next round of the FA Cup our game which was scheduled to be played at their ground on the
10th October will have to be rearranged. ________________________________________________________________________________
Friday 25th September The
fist team travel to Slough Town tomorrow in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup, should be a good game with Slough having
a good start to their season, with the M25 having plenty of roadworks on route make sure you leave plenty of traveling time.
Friday 18th September Our Managers
signed front runner Ross Wall last night from AFC Hornchurch, Ross was scoring on a regular basis for Burnham
Ramblers in the Essex Senior League a couple of seasons ago and was thought of very highly at AFC Hornchurch. ____________________________________________________________ Thursday 17th September Our co-managers
Danny Scopes and Danny Cowley are still busy with new signings Nikki Beale from Tiptree Utd and Lee Williams from Brentwood
Town joining us yesterday and going straight into the squad for our next game at Northwood on Saturday. ____________________________________________________________ Wednesday 16th September We have been
drawn to play Slough Town who play in the Zamaretto Midlands League in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup. Zamaretto is
the name of the Southern League and Slough will be strong opposition, they have only lost one game out of five starts in the
league and are in 6th position at present. Slough won 2 - 1 against Zamaretto Premier Division side Hemel Hempstead in the
last round. ___________________________________________________________ Tuesday 15th September Subject to the match being confirmed by the Ryman Football League, the re-arranged
game against Harlow Town will take place on Tuesday 29th September. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My co - website manager, Derek Skelton is currently travelling around the world on a business trip, we wish him well
on his travels and look forward to his return
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Due to the FA Cup match with Romford being drawn, the replay will be on Tuesday 15th September and the game against Harlow
Town scheduled to be played that night will have to be re-arranged. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Wednesday 9th September 09 The match against Harlow Town
at their Barrows Farm Ground was abandoned due to Floodlight failure when we were leading 2 - 0, It was an unfortunate night
for Steve Butterworth who had scored both Concord goals on his first start for the club. We have re-arranged the game
to be played on Tuesday 15th September, Kick Off: 7.45pm _______________________________________________________________ Sunday 6th September DAVE COLLINS Finally spoken to Dave Collins yesterday at the game, he is working very hard on his general fitness, but like most
long term injuries, when you start playing, and training again somethingelse goes in this case Dave has a slight
tear in his thigh muscle, so maybe another few weeks, before he is back, I am sure we all wish him well, and hope for a speedy
return to the 1st team. SAM TAYLOR No good news here I am
afraid, Sam has a knee problem that doesn't seem to be improving, and tells me he will have to have a scan to to identify
the problem, we will keep you updated on his progress.
Sunday 23rd August On Tuesday
evening the first team entertain Heybridge Swifts, after the defeat to Lowestoft Town last Tuesday night, and the well contested
draw to VCD Athletic, we all hope the improvement continues. The signs look good, the gritty performance aganist VCD, after
going a goal behind twice in the game, the boys never gave up, pressing VCD at every opportunity, and could have
snatched the game at the death, but maybe a draw was the fairest result over the 90 minutes. So lets get behind the team
on Tuesday night, and watch them get back to winning ways.
Sunday 16th August 2009 On Tuesday night 18th August the first team travel to Lowestoft Town F.C. for their first away game of the new season.
Lowestoft who joined the Ryman league this season, beat Thamesmead in their first fixture 0-2 making Tuesday night a very
interesting test for our boys, don't miss it, it's only up the A12.
Sunday 16th August 2009 Our match reporter (Cliff Mills) spoke briefly to Danny Cowley after the game, who said" I'm happy
with the performance, although we should have scored more goals, the sharpness in front of goal will come" hopefully
more to come from our joint managers Cowley & Scopes after the midweek game at Lowestoft, see you all there!
Saturday 15th August 2009 Concord win their season opener 2-0 aganist Ware FC. (see match report).
Another good
pre-season win, this time aganist Biggleswade Town F.C. a hat trick from Danny Heale, helped us to a 6-1 win. (see match report). Players
