Sutton saved by superb Scriven.

The league leaders have one man to thank for their point against the impressive Beachboys in this high tempo affair at the Borough Sports Ground.

Fola Orilonishe causing trouble for the visitors on numerous occasions with a selection of dangerous crosses early on.
Concord were denied the opener with the plaudits going to the Sutton goalkeeper Kevin Scriven producing a excellent reaction save to deny Ashley Miller.
The Beachboys had a controversial refereeing decision go against them when Tony Stokes seemed to have been pulled down in the box only to see the referee wave play on.
The visitors take a deserved lead in the 18th minute when Harry Elmes reacted first to a rebounded effort after Scriven saved Marc Sontags previous headed effort.
Concord went close to doubling their lead when Stokes cleverly flicked a header into the path of Harry Elmes who's left footed strike was well blocked by Simon Downer.
Concord come close once again to extending their lead when Sontag crossed for Stokes who's volley went a whisker wide of the post.
The home side got an equaliser against the run of play when Karl Murray clipped the ball across goal which Brightly could only parry into the path of Bradley Woods-Garness who made no mistake sliding into the bottom left.
Sutton should have taken the lead when Richard Jolly was sent down the right and cut back for Orilonshe who failed to hit the target from 6 yards smashing over.
Mark Sontag capped a neat concord move with a 30 yard strike which Scriven did well to save.
Scriven makes yet another good stop to prevent Ashley Miller giving his side the lead.
Concord come an inches from getting a 90th minute winner when the ball was slid across goal to Stokes who slid but was just short of reach what would have been the winner.
Barrage of attacks from the battling Beachboys brought another good chance when Ogilvie was slipped through and struck a sweet left footed effort and was again made to watch Scriven turn it past the post.
The visitors again come agonisingly close to taking all three points when Stokes latched onto a through ball, rounded the keeper and slid the ball towards the open goal only to watch as Sam Page slid to thwart his effort.

An inspired performance from Gary Ogilvie on his return from America saw Concord edge past a tough Hendon side to move them up to 7th position in the Ryman Premier League.

The hosts were sharp from the offset today, creating a host of early chances.  Harry Elmes was gifted possession on the edge of the Hendon penalty area and fired a powerful effort over the crossbar.

Concord should have taken the lead when Ogilvie made a surging run into the box which ended in what appeared to be a cynical challenge.  Referee Blunden waved no penalty, as the ball fell to James Hawes, who produced a tame effort which Hendon stopper James Reading duly dealt with.

Hendon’s goal led a charmed life until the opener in the 29th minute when Hawes latched onto a Stokes through ball and was brought down leaving the referee no option but to point to the spot.  Stokes took charge hammering past Reading to give his side a deserved lead.

The Beachboys were soon two goals to the good when Ogilvie produced a magnificent piece of technique to volley a far post cross into the opposite corner.

The visitors gave themselves a lifeline in what was becoming a very one sided affair, when Belal Aite-Ouakrim rounded Dale Brightly and slid his effort goalwards.  Ashley Miller attempted to clear off the line but the ball was ruled over the line by assistant referee Anyanwu causing five Concord players to verbally dispute the decision.

Jamie Busby almost drew his side level on the stroke of half time when he hit a sweetly struck volley which hit the upright.

Aite-Ouakrim notched a second following a defensive error midway though the second period, crashing the ball past Brightly to draw level.

Concord continued to press though and got a deserved winner when Steve King headed home Danny Gloziers cross.

Concord come from behind to take all three points in this hard fought game.

The hosts took the initiative early on and took control of proceedings and mustered three good goalscoring opportunities with the best being a 30 yard James Elmes effort which produced a top stop from Invicta keeper Jack Delo.

Lee White gave away a soft free kick on the edge of his box which Darren Smith strike low deflecting past Brightly into the bottom left to gift the visitors the lead against the run of play.

This goal sparked Folkstone into life and with the travelling side with their tails up they began to press forward.  They were awarded a penalty midway through the first, when Danny Glozier was adjudged to have pushed over a Folkstone forward.  James Everett stepped up and saw his bottom left bound spot kick superbly saved by Brightly.

Concord drew level on 34 minutes, Harry Elmes was set through down the left and drove his shot into the bottom right.

Fresh into the second period and the hosts had a penalty appeal waved away by the referee, Erskine claimed his overhead effort was handled.

Rangers could have taken the lead in the 62nd minute when Nicky Cowleys low effort was well saved by Delo and Stokes’ follow up was blocked via a last ditch slide tackle from Frankie Chappell.

Concord took the lead with much praise going to the referee when he accidently intercepted a Folkstone pass which the hosts gratefully took and ruthlessly opened up their opposition with Cowley linking up with Harry Elmes who cut back to Jacob Erskine who slid home in a sharp move.

Stokes almost notched his side a third when his mazy run ended with a finessed effort curling millimetres wide.

Allan Tait came close to providing an equaliser for his side when he headed a great cross just over.

Concord managed a vital win after a difficult seven days on the pitch with Skipper Nicky Cowley marking his 150th appearance for the club in spectacular style, showing his teammates the way with his never say die attitude.

Harrow Borough warmed up for their day in the FA Cup spotlight with a lacklustre 2-0 home defeat.

With thoughts at Earlsmead already drifting towards next Saturday’s 1st round tie with Chesterfield, Boro’s back four went to sleep twice with Concord taking full advantage.

Rangers captain Nicky Cowley found himself unmarked in the 12th minute to head his side in front.

Tony Stokes doubled that lead in the second half, bundling home a free kick as Boro’ failed to clear their lines.

It was a far cry from the excitement of Eastbourne for Harrow fans, especially with hat-trick hero Troy Hewitt resting an ankle injury on the sidelines.

His absence saw Dewayne Clarke up front with Rocky Baptiste, with Dean Marney returning at the back and Clayton Dixon in for David Ijaha.

Boro’ rocked Eastbourne last weekend with an early goal and almost repeated the feat against Concord.

Captain Wayne Walters met a free kick from Ryan Watts but smashed his header straight at visiting ‘keeper Dale Brightley.

Concord were unfazed and were denied a clear chance of their own after Watts’ clumsy challenge felled James Elmes on the edge of the box, only for referee Phipps to wave play on.

Watts then completed an eventful opening ten minutes by rattling the visitors’ crossbar with a delightful curling free kick from 25 yards.

Another set piece gave Concord the lead with Cowley advancing unmarked into the box to head past Nick Jupp.

Stokes followed that up minutes later by turning Danny McGonigle on the edge of the box, but saw his shot strike the frame of the Boro’ goal.

Boro’ were struggling to create chances in response and lost Dixon to injury shortly after the half hour mark.

That brought Kurt Morlese into the action from the bench and he and Baptiste were just beaten by Brightley to an Evandro Delgado cross on 33 minutes.

Stokes forced Jupp into another save as the first half tailed off under a string of heavy showers.

The second half started with plenty of Boro’ possession but they continued to lack a cutting edge.

Jupp then fumbled a free kick onto his own crossbar before diving to swat the rebound out of the path of a Concord player.

Stokes doubled his side’s advantage on 63 minutes, as a deep free kick bounced in the Boro’ penalty area and he pounced to score.

Boro’s forwards huffed and puffed as they looked for a way back, but failed to really trouble the Concord goal as the match headed towards its conclusion.

Danny Leech shot straight at Brightley before Walters headed a corner wide, but that was as good as it got for Harrow.

The defeat leaves Harrow still 16th in the table, with a cup match against Hillingdon on Tuesday ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup showdown with Chesterfield.

The Beachboys complete a comprehensive win over a Tooting side that were outclassed in long periods of the game.

Both sides were slow to get into the game today, with the opening goal scoring chance coming for the visitors in the 28th minute.  Barry Stevens point blank effort saw Dale Brightly produce a wonderful reaction save.

Concord should have taken the lead minutes later when James Lawson was set through on goal only to strike wide of the left post.

The home side soon had another great opportunity to open the scoring when Harry Elmes found himself one on one with the keeper, his effort ricocheting off the crossbar.

Man of the match, involved in every dangerous Concord move today was Tony Stokes who produced a fine performance of stalwartness.  It was he who provided the free kick which skipper Nicky Cowley opened the scoring from, heading in off the crossbar in the 37th minute.

Luke Wanadio almost made terms level producing some individual skill when he cut inside off the right and unleashed a far post drive producing a top save from Brightly.

Harry Elmes caused the Tooting back line some serious problems when he went past two players down the left before cutting back for his cousin James who failed to provide the finish from close range.

Rangers extended their lead just after the hour mark when Stokes made a driving run into the box and was cynically brought down by keeper James Butler.  Stokes brushed himself off before stepping up and belting the ball past Butler.

Jacob Erskine came off the bench and immediately made an impact.  He was involved in a neat piece of play which he should have sealed with a tap in but he decided to try and flick the ball home through his legs, missing a sitter in the process.

Erskine made amends for his earlier moment of madness when a through ball of perfection via Stokes led to him striking into the bottom right to seal a well deserved victory.

Hard fought stalemate were ground out over the ninety minutes between the two sides who seem evenly matched after this being the third draw in successive games.

Concord were arguably the better side in this affair, which will have joint managers Danny Cowley and Danny Scopes rueing missed chances, costing them the three points they craved.

James Lawson was on top form tonight causing the Ricay backline untold amount of problems with his tricky runs at pace.  He registered his intent to get on the score sheet early on when after making short work of three opponents he stuck a low shot destined for the bottom left only to be denied by Town captain Ian Cousins who slid to knock the ball agonisingly past the post.

Ryan Edgar, Billericays primary threat missed a golden chance midway through the first.  Flashing a shot over the bar from little over 10 yards.

Edgar soon made amends for this miss, putting his side ahead with a tap in at the far post following a mistake from Danny Glozier led to Luke Junior setting up the opener.

The Beachboys were raring to get back on terms after this set back, aggrieved that the Billericay goal came against the run of play, they soon registered two great goalscoring chances.  Harry Elmes heading past the post from close range and on the stroke of half time, a Tony Stokes free kick being well saved by Nicky Morgan.

Concord came out for the second half much in the same vain as the first, dictating the play and looking in control despite the scoreline.

They were soon back on level terms when Danny Glozier hit a far post free kick which Steve King powerfully headed past Morgan.

Rangers should have been leading two minutes later.  Lee White with a free header from Gloziers corner which he put agonisingly inches over the bar.

Billericay had Dave Collis shown a second yellow for blocking a quickly taken free kick late in the second half.

The home side powered forward in what seemed like attack after attack late on in pursuit of the win but each time failing to provide the poise in the final third needed to take the points.

Concord open a new chapter in their history when they made it to the 3rd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup for the first time after beating a tough Billericay side after extra time.

Both sides seemed determined to progress to the next round in this hard fought game where the defensive back lines of both clubs providing very tough to break down.

Concord managed the first threat to break the deadlock midway through the first half when Harry Elmes was fed the ball before turning his marker to fire towards the top left corner forcing Nicky Morgan into a fine save.

The visiting Town registered their first meaningful chance late in the first half.  Tom Bolaninwa latched onto a trough ball and smashed his effort high over the bar from little over 8 yards to the dismay of the Ricay following.

Both sides seemed to give the ball away in abundance during the second half where nerves understandably seeming to be getting the better of the players.

The Beachboys made what turned out to be inspiring substitutions midway through the second half, both Russell Pond and James Lawson making immediate impacts on the game.

Concord has a series of chances to take the tie out of Billericay’s reach late in the game, the pick of which being a sweetly struck shot by Lawson flying just over the top corner.

Neither side managed to break the deadlock over the course of ninety minutes so the additional thirty was required to tilt the tie one way.

The hosts continued to pressure their opposition and should have taken the lead in the 94th minute. Harry Elmes crossed low for Stokes who only managed to stroke his left footed effort straight at the grateful Morgan from point blank.

Stokes soon made amends for his miss soon after and the determination was clear for all to see when he picked the ball up and took on three hapless Billericay defenders before unleashing an unstoppable left footed drive into the far corner to send his team mates and fans ecstatic.

Concord managed to see the game out in professional style from this point on, with the experience of trio Brightly, King and Stokes in full bloom as their visiting counterparts worn into further frustration.

The Beachboys now look forward to a home tie in the 3rd Qualifying round against Hythe Town of the Kent Senior League.

United endured a truly dismal ninety minutes at the Pilot Field this evening, as their first ever meeting with Concord Rangers ended with the U's suffering a fourth successive defeat, having skipper Sean Ray stretchered off with a suspected broken ankle, and goalkeeper Clark Masters sent off after collecting two petulant yellow cards in the space of sixty seconds.

A shockingly poor first half was painful to watch, not least after Ray stayed down after a seemingly innocuous challenge in the Concord penalty area, eventually being carried off and taken to hospital for x-rays that will determine the extent of an injury that looks at best to be a case of serious ligament damage.

The second half was worse still from United's point of view though. Having missed a handful of chances in the early stages, the U's ultimately capitulated once Harry Elmes had given Concord a sixty-fourth minute lead, with defender Steve King doubling their advantage seven minutes later, and Bertie Brayley completing the scoring from the penalty spot ten minutes from time.

Although not involved in the penalty incident itself, Masters earned himself a caution before the kick was taken, and another for angrily firing the ball at the celebrating Concord players after the kick had been converted, leaving Sam Adams to don the keeper's jersey for an uneventful final ten minutes, the visitors gratifyingly opting not to take further advantage of United's state of almost complete disarray.

Adams for Jamie Cade was the only change to the starting line-up that had been so unfortunate in defeat at Bury on Saturday, as manager Tony Dolby retained the 4-3-3 formation that had worked so well in Suffolk. The return of Jimmy Elford and Nathan Russell allowed Dolby to drop himself from the sixteen man squad, the defensive duo both named amongst the substitutes, where reserve keeper Scott Chalmers-Stevens was ironically not selected for the first time this season.

With the visitors also starting in a 4-3-3 formation, the two sides effectively cancelled each other out in a horribly sterile opening forty-five minutes, as the very idea of attractive football was quickly forgotten, in favour of aimless long balls and misplaced passes.

How different things might have been had Concord's fifth minute penalty appeals been upheld, when Ray seemed to block Tony Stokes' close range and goalbound volley with an outstretched left arm. United failed to make the most of this good fortune however, and Russell Eldridge's thirty yard free kick was the only effort that roused Dale Brightly from his first half slumbers, and even that gave the keeper little more than catching practise.

By that point, Ade Olorunda had already collected his fourth booking in five games, for a late challenge on Brightly as the two converged on John Beales' long ball. The combative striker could perhaps consider himself a shade unlucky, given the referee's decision not to caution brother Tim for a rather poorer looking tackle a few minutes earlier, and was left to tread carefully for the remainder of the contest, reducing his effectiveness as a consequence.

Ray's misfortune then forced Dolby into a rethink, with Kenny Pogue the unlikely replacement for his stricken captain, as United switched to a 4-4-2 formation, with Tim Olorunda dropping into the back four. The move did nothing to enhance the U's from an attacking perspective, and the focus of play was more heavily centred in the United half as the interval drew near, Elmes and Marc Sontag driving long range efforts wide of goal, and Beales slicing an attempted clearance dangerously close to his own goal from a James Lawson cross deep into added time.

The introduction of Russell for Logan within five minutes of the restart saw United revert to a 4-3-3 line-up for the second half, with Tim Olorunda once again released into a midfield role, and Adams and Pogue flanking Ade Olorunda in attack.

Ade was suddenly presented with a fantastic chance when James Hawes' misdirected header sent him clear in the area, but United's leading scorer appeared curiously indecisive and King was able to effect enough of a challenge for Brightly to gather safely. Adams drove a long range effort wide, and Beales failed to convert an Eldridge free kick when well placed, as the U's continued to enjoy their best spell of the match, but it would not last long, and from the moment that Concord stole the lead, there was only going to be one outcome.

The visitors opening goal came from a short corner, the influential Brayley exchanging passes with Stokes, before drilling in a low cross towards the near post, where Elmes was waiting to apply the slightest of touches to give Masters no chance, although Michael Phillips might have done better in his attempt to block the ball on the goalline.

Anthony Storey replaced Phillips a couple of minutes later, but struggled to gain an influence on proceedings, too often watching on as the ball bypassed his deep-lying midfield position.

Instead, things then took another turn for the worse for United, with Brayley once again instrumental as Concord doubled their lead in the seventy-first minute, this time exchanging passes with Elmes from a free kick on the right, before hitting a swerving shot with the outside of his left foot, which Masters saved superbly, only for the rebound to be neatly converted by King.

Pogue's flick released Eldridge for what should have been an immediate reply, but the midfielder managed to scuff his attempted chip over the advancing Brightly, failing even to win a corner as he tried to redeem the situation.

Masters kept the U's in the game once more, with another stunning, one-handed save to defy Brayley, but the former Braintree and Chelmsford man would not be denied for much longer, and when Storey's ill-timed lunge upended Leslie Thompson on the right hand side of the United area, Brayley calmly fired past Masters from twelve yards to put the result beyond any reasonable doubt.

Having got a good hand to the penalty, Masters compounded United's misery with his foolish reaction to an admittedly enormously frustrating situation, picking up a second booking in next to no time and leaving his side a man short for the latter stages.

Not for the first time in his United career, Adams proved himself a capable emergency understudy, producing one decent save to deny Elmes a second goal, while Storey finally fashioned only the U's second shot on target in the entire match, a curling effort into Brightly's welcoming arms a couple of minutes into stoppage time.

Tonbridge stole all three points in a game soured by some poor officiating.

The visitors were sharper off the mark from the start today, with most of their direct moves causing problems for the Concord back four.  Kirk Watts set up the first meaningful chance of the game when he took on Ashley Miller down the left and crossed for Scott Kinch who headed just over.

Bertie Brayley came close to levelling the scores soon after when his low strike was well saved by Lee Worgan in the Angels goal.

The hosts were starting to take a grip of the game late in the first period when they conceded the opener against the run of play.  A clever through ball slipped between the Concord backline onto Lee Browning who eased the ball into the far corner in the 45th minute.

Tonbridge doubled their lead in the 64th minute.  Kirk Watts again causing havoc down the right before laying off to Frannie Colin who fired low through a crowd of players into the bottom left.

The Beachboys suddenly sparked into life after conceding the second and began to outplay their opposition.

They were level in the 79th minute; James Lawson produced a glimpse of excellence when he took on two players down the left before crossing perfectly for Harry Elmes to head home.

Ashley Miller saw red a minute later when what seemed to be an excellent sliding tackle to dispossess Sonny Miles drew out a bemusing decision from referee Ramsey who handed Miller his second yellow card, giving him his marching orders.

Ex Wales u18 international Lee Worgan, produced a world class save, acrobatically tipping Lawson’s top corner volley wide of the far post then deservedly taking his teammates plaudits.

Worgan again proved the thorn in Concords side late into stoppage time.  Tony Stokes latched onto a splitting pass and saw his close range poked shot denied by a top reaction save.

A frustrating day for the hosts with the Angels clinging on to steal all three points.

Rangers turn on the style as they outplay hapless Maidstone United in a heavily one-sided affair.

Concord always had the upper hand with the fulltime result flattering the away side to a large scale.  The hosts were fast out the blocks with the first of what proved to be an avalanche of chances coming in the 5th minute.  Danny Glozier floated a long ball back post, Steve King heading back across goal to Harry Elmes, whose swivelled strike flew inches over the crossbar.

Soon after Marc Sontag put United keeper Andy Walker to the test when he struck towards the bottom left forcing the visiting stopper into a quality save.

The Beachboys were in full control at this point, outclassing their opponents with their free flowing, fast pace passing game.

The overdue opener came in the 40th minute.  Bertie Brayley and Taylor Sinfield linking up down the right side with the latter finding Brayley with a cutting pass who took on two players before clipping into the far corner.

Concord continued to prove the more superior in the second period, with another chance going adrift.  Harry Elmes took the ball past Ryan Andrews with ease to leave himself one on one.  Walker producing another fine save to deny Concord doubling their lead.

Maidstone were unexpectedly back in the game when in the 61st minute Danny Hockton managed his sides first attempt on target, and scoring with a header into the far corner to the dismay of the Concord players.

This disappointment was soon forgotten when straight from kick-off the Beachboys were deservedly back in front when Brayleys clever chip pass found James Lawson who slammed the ball home from little over 6 yards.

The game seemed like it was put to bed in the 90th minute when Russell Ponds well weighted free-kick picks out Steve King to head into the far corner.

There was a slight change to the result only 90 seconds later when the visitors managed their second effort on target also notching their second of the game with a goal mirroring the previous Hockton header with the same conclusion.

Concord were comprehensively beaten in this encounter by a professionally organised Lowestoft side.

The visitors were in front early on when in the second minute, a direct free-kick straight through the heart of the home defence found an unmarked Lee McGlone who gratefully took his gift heading into the far corner.

Concord came close to equalising in the 17th minute.  A menacing Dave Collins free-kick catching out the Town defence for Harry Elmes heading agonisingly wide from 8 yards.

The first half continued to churn out chance after chance for both sides, the pick of the Lowestoft chances being a 25 yard volley via Andrew Fisk.  Dale Brightly was equal to it making a top notch save.

The hosts once again came close to making it level in the 41st minute when Tony Stokes crossed from the right to Dave Collins, who struck a volley across goal wide of the far post.

In the second period, the visitors began to outclass their hosts and were the dominant force, creating a large share of chances.

In the 57th minute, Lowestoft should have doubled their lead when Daniel Bloomfield was sent through down the right.  His near post driven strike saved comfortably by Brightly.

Bloomfield sparked wild celebrations soon after when his constant perseverance paid off when during a goalmouth scramble in the Concord area, he managed to slide the ball under Brightly to confirm the clear difference between the two teams.

Concord were put under severe pressure by Lowestoft late on with a few chances coming to nothing.

A much deserved away win, with the hosts being made to appear in an inferior league.

Concord begin life in the Ryman Premier League with a stalemate against a strong Sutton side.

The two sides always looked like sharing the spoils in this one, having gone toe to toe on chances throughout.
Referee R. James made a controversial decision early on, choosing not to pull a card out when Suttons Sam Page pulled down Harry Elmes when set through on goal.
Craig Dundas was Suttons most attractive threat towards the hosts goal, his first chance a header whisking past the far post from a corner in the 40th minute.
Centre half Page was riding his luck and was again let off the hook when he brought down Tony Stokes with a cringe worthy waist height tackle.
Sutton were put on the back foot on the stroke of half time, dealing well with the hosts pressure, Steve King coming close with his goal bound shot being blocked from 8 yards.
Dundas almost opened the scoring for the visitors on the 61st minute when he struck a low drive through a host of bodies agonisingly wide of the far post.
United beginning to rue missed chances when an over hit cross from the right fell for Fola Orilonishe who fired over from close range.

Concord almost took the lead midway through the 1st when Harry Elmes created himself some space and struck a low drive onto the bottom left upright.
Harlow took the lead against the run of play when Che Wilson latched onto a through ball and shaped the ball into the far corner leaving Dale Brightly with no chance.
The Beachboys drew level on the stroke of half time. The first glimpse of excellence was put on display when Taylor Sinfield and Harry Elmes linked up to set Mark Sontag down the right side, his cross finding Tony Stokes who headed into the far corner.
Concord took control of the game early in the second half, when in the 52nd minute Harry Elmes was put through one on one with the Harlow Keeper, and slid his effort past him into the bottom right.
Elmes added to his impressive pre season tally soon after when he went past two hapless Harlow defenders before smashing home from close range.
Concord added to the scoreline soon after. Russel Malton got in on the act, his superb right footed effort sailed into the right side netting from the better part of 30 yards.
Mark Sontag rounded off the scoring with a precision lob over the spectator in the shape of the Harlow keeper from 45 yards.

Concord continued to pressure in pursuit of an equaliser and got their reward shortly following the hour mark.  A quickly taken free-kick from the right was flicked on by Bertie Brayley into the path of Harry Elmes who struck into the bottom left past the Turkish international keeper Deniz Mehmet.
As the game wore on, Thurrock began to take control with the added man advantage making the difference and re-took the lead when Lawrence Yiga was put clean through on goal and knocked the ball over the advancing Brightly before sliding it into the open goal.
The result was cememted in Thurrocks favour late on, Matt Bodkin struck a right footed volley into the left side netting from close range.

A good workout for the two sides before Concord host Charlton Athletic on tuesday night.  7.45 ko.

Another man, a cut above in class over his opposition, step forward Bertie Brayley who decided to produce a fine swerving finish to the bottom right midway through the first half to put his side ahead.
The visitors continued to probe in the second half, the pick of the un-finished chances, a Dave Collins free-kick struck at high pace, produced a top save from the home keeper.
Concord wrapped up the result soon after when James Elmes whipped a free-kick over the wall into the top left from 20 yards.

Concord put on display a strong second half performance to overwhelm their Blue Square South opposition Bishop Stortford.

The visitors created the lions share of opportunities in the first period, none of which were dispatched due to the organised Concord rearguard.  Dean Green put the hosts ahead towards the latter stages of the first half, driving the ball past the Stortford stopper from close range.

Commence of the second half saw the Beachboys show their strengths, putting the pressure on and going on to score a further three goals to seal the result.

Kayan Kalipha added to his pre season tally, expertly skipping a challenge and placing into the far left corner.

Russell Malton opened his account for the club soon after the 70th minute with a clever finish.

The fourth came from a simple set-piece.  A well placed corner headed into the roof of the net by young Taylor Sinfield.

A pleasing result for Concord, who continue their pre season preperation with a trip to Worthing FC before returning to Thames Road to face a Gillingham XI on Tuesday 27 July.  7.45 ko.

Ryman Football League Play - Off FINAL

Concord Rangers  3   Enfield Town  1

Concord went into this game fired up by the team talk from joint managers Danny Cowley and Danny Scopes and after just five minutes defender John Easterford scored from a cross by Lyle Taylor.

In the 20th minute Concord's second goal was scored after Ashley Miller put in a great run down the left and his shot hit the bar, Steve King was in the right place to head home from the rebound.

Enfield Town pulled a goal back in the 49th minute when Steve King handled in the area and Enfield's number 9 Stuart Blackbourne slotted home the penalty to make it an exciting second half.

Danny Heale scored in the last minute of the game to give Concord a deserved 3 - 1 victory.

Concord Rangers  3  Wingate & Finchley  2

Having lost recent signing Clydie Roberts in the warm up through a knee injury, another new signing Ashley Miller was drafted in and it was Ashley who set up Concord's first goal when he went round two Wingate defenders and then crossed for Michael Begg to score low into the corner of the net after 25 minutes.

Four minutes later Wingate's bustling front runner Leon Smith latched onto a through pass and cooly shot past Concord keeper, Dale Brightly for the equaliser.

Three minutes into the second half  top scorer Lyle Taylor collected a pass outwide on the left and powered onto the edge of Wingate's box and hammered a shot past Wingate keeper Gavin King to restore Concord's lead.

In the 71st minute Wingate were awarded a penalty after Concord defender Nick Skelton had been judged to have brought down a Wingate forward by Referee Tom Ramsey, Wingate's No 4 Jordan Fowler stepped up and scored from the spot.

We all thought the game was heading for a draw when in the second minute of added time, Taylor Sinfield who had come off the subs bench won an important tackle, the ball went to Lyle Taylor to cross to Michael Begg and his headed pass went to Danny Heale to head home the winner.

A hard fought victory for Concord against a Cheshunt side who played well and who looked like they would pull off a win against us after Iain Salt had scored for Cheshunt in the 59th minute.

Steve King making his debut for Concord equalised with a free kick in the 78th minute and the odds were stacked against Concord when Skipper Nicky Cowley was sent off for an offence when challenging Luke Dodd the Cheshunt Keeper which Referee Simon Leaf warranted a second yellow.

It was in added time that following a pinpoint Dave Collins free kick that Nick Skelton managed to get his head to the ball and put in great header to score the winning goal.

Essex Senior Cup 4th Round

Concord Rangers 1  Maldon Town 2

After reaching the final last season it was disappointing for us to lose in our second game of the competition.

We gave a very simple goal away, which has become a bit of a habit lately, James Abbo Maldon's number 8 took full advantage of a poor clearence to score from 30 yards out and put Maldon 1 - 0 in front.

Although Concord hit the woodwork a few times during the game it was Maldon who went further ahead when they scored a second goal in the 64th minute. Lyle Taylor who had come off the bench to replace John Easterford scored Concord's goal in the 81st minute. Concord went close in the final minutes but could not get the all important equaliser to take the game into extra time.

Team: 1. Jack Buckfield, 2. Kevin Watson, 3. Dave Collins, 4. Taylor Sinfield, 5. Nikki Beale, 6. Nick Skelton, 7. Ashley - Paul Robinson, 8. John Easterford, 9. Michael Begg, 10. Danny Heale, 11. Danny Hayzelden, 12. Lyle Taylor, 14. Ross Wall, 16. Lee Williams.

Concord Rangers 3  Harlow Town 0

Having lost their last three league games Concord needed a result against Harlow to put them back in contention for a play-off position and they played with a lot more confidence to win well.

After 18 minutes Lyle Taylor got on the scoresheet once again with a well taken goal when he bent the ball round Harlow's keeper Jamie Waite. Harlow battled hard against Concord but could not break down the defence with Easterford and Skelton holding firm in the middle of the back four.

In the 68th minute Liam Hopkins collected the ball on the right and sent in a cross for Ross Wall to latch onto and he made no mistake when he fired home for the Concord's second goal. Skipper Nicky Cowley returned to the Concord side after several weeks out with a groin injury and was a big influence in midfield. It was in added time that Lyle Taylor scored his second and Concord's third for a much needed win.

Enfield Town 2  Concord Rangers 1

Concord was on the backfoot from as early as the 7th minute when Kevin Watson unfortunately scored an own goal to put Enfield in front.

Liam Hopkins equalised after 11 minutes with a stunning shot from 30 yards that flew into the top right corner of the net.

In the 23rd minute Concord's new signing from Cray Wanderers, Scott Kinch had to go off with a hamstring injury and was replaced by Taylor Sinfield.

Rudi Hall, Enfields experienced midfielder scored Enfield's winner right on half time when he took a free kick which Concord's Keeper Dale Brightly looked to have covered but somehow it went under his body into the net.

This was a most dissapointing display by Concord and it was the third League game on the trot that they have lost, lets hope we can turn things around quickly or a play off place will be unlikely this season.

Team: 1. Dale Brightly, 2. Kevin Watson, 3. Nikki Beale, 4. Lee Williams, 5. John Easterford, 6. Nick Skelton, 7. Michael Begg, 8. Scott Kinch, 9. Lyle Taylor, 10. Ross Wall, 11. Liam Hopkins (1), 12. Taylor Sinfield, 15. Ashley Robinson, 16. Dave Collins.

Hampton & Richmond 3  Concord Rangers 2

Concord gave a good performance against Hampton who are two leagues above them competing in the Blue Square Conference South.

It was a dreadful mix up between Concord's Keeper Dale Brightly and Lee Williams that allowed Hampton's Nathan Collier an easy tap in for Hamptons first goal.

Ian Hodges and Barrie Matthews scored two more in the second half which looked like Hampton was going to coast home but Concord stormed back in the pouring rain with goals from Lyle Taylor and Nikki Beale in the 85th and 88th minute to make it an exciting finish.

Just two minutes into the second half Steve Butterworth scored Concord's second goal latching onto a rebound off Richard Wray, East Thurrocks keeper.

Ashley- Paul Robinson came off the sub's bench for Lyle Taylor in the 80th minute and after five minutes hit a superb goal to seal the match and take us into the 3rd Round when we play Billericay at home.

Redbridge's Charlie Georgio scored the first goal after 25 minutes when he collected the ball on the right hand side of the Concord box and hit a shot that went in off the far post.

Concord kept pushing forward but could not make the vital opening and Redbridge wrapped up the game when the lively Alex Read scored their  second in the 83rd minute.

FA Trophy 2nd Qualifying Round

Concord Rangers 2  Enfield Town 0

With both our Captain Nicky Cowley and top scorer Lyle Taylor out through injury and suspension we all thought this tie would cause us problems but we managed to play some good football throughout the game and although Enfield Town also played some attractive football we came out winning the match and progress to the next round.

Ross Wall ahd two good chances early on but his first opportunity Enfield Town's keeper, Rob Blackbourne pulled off a good save and his second he scooped over the bar from close range but Ross made ammends when he fired an accurate left foot shot into the net to put Concord 1 - 0 up.

In the 61st minute Danny Heale put in a cross and with the faintest touch off his head Michael Begg scored Concord's second. In an entertaining game Concord deserved the win and we now travel to Hampton & Richmond who play in the Blue Square South in the next round.

Essex Senior Cup 3rd Round

Saffron Walden Town 0  Concord Rangers 3

Concord will try to go one further than last season when we reached the final of the competition before being beaten by Chelmsford City 2 - 0

Concord took the lead in the 17th minute when Dave Collins closed down  Saffron Walden's keeper, Ronnie Yates out wide on the left, Yates clearence fell to Lyle Taylor and his quick thinking hit home from 35yards with Yates scrambling to get back to his goal.

In the 39th minute another 35yard effort this time a tremendous left foot shot by Dave Collins hit the post with Concord unfortunate not to go into half time with a 2 - 0 lead.

After 61minutes it was good work by Nikki Beale chasing through on the right and from an acute angle squared the ball but Walden's Ben Riches tried to clear but put the ball into his own goal for Concord's second.

Concord's third was scored by Lyle Taylorafter Steve Butterworth put in an accurate cross for Lyle to score.

A well earned win against a Saffron Walden side who never gave up.

Concord had enough chances in the first half to have gone in at half time with four goals to their credit but poor finishing kept the scoreline blank.

Ten minutes into the second half Steve Butterworth replaced Michael Begg and just two minutes later Concord were awarded a free kick, Lee Williams took it quickly and found Danny Heale and his right foot shot went into the corner of the Ilford net, this turned out to be the winning goal taking Concord to the top of the League table leapfrogging Great Wakering on goal difference.

VCD Athletic 0  Concord Rangers 1

We had to wait until the 43rd minute before Kevin Watsonhit a speculative shot towards the VCD goal and we was all surprised when the ball went through several players and ended up in the corner of the net deceiving VCD keeper James Tedder. The goal was to end up being the winner putting Concord through to the next round.

Dale Brightly made a very good one handed save diving to his right in the 62nd minute to keep Concord in front and deny VCD the equaliser that they were desperately seeking.

The only negative point on the day was Lyle Taylor being sent off on 82 minutes for a second yellow offence having been booked two minutes earlier.

Concord had to make a change to the team as early as the 13th minute when Danny Hayzelden had to go off due to a shoulder injury and was replaced in defence by Liam Hopkins.

The first goal came in the 33rd minute when Ross Wall opened the scoring,  ten minutes later Ross Wall was again on target this time with a great shot into the corner of the net giving Romford's keeper Danny Mulrooney no chance, Concord was happy going in at half time with a two goal cushion.

In the 55th Minute Nikki Beale sent a pin point pass out of defence for Lyle Taylor out wide on the left to latch onto and then place a perfect shot into the opposite corner for Concord's third.

Romford were reduced to 10 men when Richard Oxby was sent off for a second time this season against Concord almost in the same circumstances as the last time when he tripped Lyle Taylor as he went past him outwide on the left.

Concord had an opportunity to take the lead as early as the 5th minute when livewire Lyle Taylor was brought down in the area by VCD defender Jason Barton, referee Ian Bentley pointed to the spot and Danny Heale took responsibilty and shot to Keeper James Tedder's left and he brought off a fine save.

Just three minutes later Lyle Taylor again tested the VCD defence when he went round two VCD players and his shot was partly saved by Tedder, the ball ran close to the goalline for Danny Heale to make amends for the penalty miss and tap home to give Concord the lead.

In the 32nd minute Dale Brightly made sure Concord preserved the lead when he brought off a brilliant double save to deny VCD an equaliser.

42 minutes into the game Concord captain Nicky Cowley returning from an injury was unfortunate to be booked along with VCD No 4 Anthony Hogg who had kicked out at Nicky after a tackle and was lucky not to be sent off.

It was quite an even second half but Concord was fortunate to win the game as VCD's Danny Penny fired a penalty over the bar after 85 minutes.

Saturday 8th August

BTFC 1 - 6 Concord Rangers

On a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon a crowd of sixty supporters were treated to a fine display of Ryman Premier League football as Concord Rangers quickly took control and the lead in the fourth minute through a Danny Heale strike.  An under strength Waders began to make some in roads into the Concord defence only to be frustrated by a very disciplined back four.  On the fifteenth minute Concord Rangers increased their lead as a header by Lyle Taylor took a deflection off of a Town defender leaving goalkeeper Dean Bull stranded. Shortly before half time some good work between Peter Gatti and Bobby Dance led to a pass through to Jamie Steele who turned and fired home.

Five minutes into the second half Concord Rangers restored their two goal advantage when Nicky Cowley slotted home.  Three minutes later Danny Heale was pulled down in the Waders penalty area and the referee had no choice but to award a penalty.  Heale stepped up and converted the penalty.  On sixty two minutes Danny Heale completed his hattrick beating Bull at the near post.  Eleven minutes from time Concord Rangers substitute Joe Sweeney made it six and put the game to bed.
