Match Report

CONCORD were condemned to their third league defeat in a row as Eastbourne ran out comfortable winners at the Aspect Arena, writes Jack Smith.

The lively Gavin McCallum in the middle for Borough was in impressive form as he bagged a brace to keep his side at the top of the league.

The opener came early as McCallum picked up a knock down in space before firing low into the bottom right past the static Jamie Butler.

Jordan Chiedozie went close in search of an equaliser seeing a close range effort saved by Lewis Carey before Gary Ogilvie scuffed the rebound when well placed to score.

McCallum then doubled his and Eastbourne’s lead when he unleashed a beauty of a strike from 35 yards out which sailed perfectly into the top left hand corner to the obvious delight of the visiting following.

Concord were struck another blow shortly shy of half time when a penalty was awarded with Alex Woodyard adjudged to have handled in the area. Up stepped Richard Pacquette who slotted straight down the middle to make life difficult for the hosts.

The second half read a different story with the Beachboys putting up more of a fight and were just short on a number of attempts on goal before Tony Stokes struck his 100th goal for the club late on which turned out to be simply a consolation.
