JOE GARDNER?S sweet second-half finish sent Concord flying into the dreamland of the first-round proper of the FA Cup for the first time in their history, writes James Colasanti.

The ex-Maldon winger smashed home decisive goal in the 64th minutes at Clarence Park to break the hearts of Vanarama South rivals St Albans and put the Beachboys into the hat for Monday?s mouth-watering draw.

Danny Cowley?s side will be ball No 73 and everyone associated with the Canvey Island-based club will now be hoping for a plum tie against one of the League?s big boys in the next round.
