This weekend Concord Rangers will visit Oxford City as they look to get back to winning ways in the Vanarama National League South.
The Beachboys picked up their third draw in as many league matches this past weekend as they conceded late on in their 2-2 result against Weston-super-Mare, a game that saw Steve Cawley, Adam Flanagan and Glen Alzapiedi all get sent off…. It was another vital point though for Concord Rangers as they moved a place up the league, but they’ll be looking for 3 points to climb even further this coming weekend.
Oxford City suffered a 2-0 loss away from home in their last match as they were beaten by Hemel Hempstead Town on Saturday afternoon. The side rest one place below Concord Rangers in the league, resting in 19th spot with just 9 points on the season. Their last 5 games in the league have seen City lose 3 and draw 2, so they will be just as eager as the Beachboys to earn a much needed 3 points when the sides meet this coming Saturday.
The last time the two sides met was on January 14th this year, and it was a thrilling match at the Aspect Arena. After 90 minutes the game ended with honours even in a 3-3 draw, with Lyle Della-Verde scoring 1 and Steve Cawley grabbing a brace on the day.
Getting to the game by road, the best way is to get to the M25 and go anti-clockwise, round to junction 16 and join the M40 towards Birmingham/Oxford. Once on the M40 continue until Junction 8 and leave to join the A40. Follow the A40 towards Oxford. Take a right turn (3rd exit) at the Green Road roundabout towards Banbury & Northampton (North). Follow this road, after one mile turn off at the first junction underneath the fly-over signposted to Marston. Turn left again at T junction immediately after leaving the dual carriageway. At the next T junction 100 yards later, turn right into Marsh Lane. After 100 yards, look for the small green Court Place Farm Stadium signs and turn left before reaching the houses. After leaving Marsh Lane, turn immediately left and follow a single approach road towards the Stadium which is located in the far corner of the site.
By rail it takes around an hour out of London Paddington, Great Western Railway run regular services. However upon arrival at Oxford it is still a further 15-20 minute taxi ride from the station, so it’s probably easier to drive all the way if you can!
