Welcome to ‘The Fans View’. This is our website feature that we’ll be putting out every week ahead of our upcoming matches this season. Saturday afternoon sees the Beachboys welcoming the ‘Cards’ to the Aspect Arena to take on 1st placed, Woking for more Vanarama National League South action, take a read of the view from one of the Wokings fans

Woking, managed by former Hampton and Richmond Borough manager, Alan ‘Dowse’ Dowson has got Woking off to a flying start, the Surrey side sit 1st beating a number of good sides including last week’s match against Billericay Town where the ‘Cards’ ran out 2-1 winners.

We spoke with ‘Cards’ fans, Jamie Hall to find out a little more about the club and how they feel about Saturday’s match:

1 – What did you make of Wokings Summer recruitment?

The recruitment over the summer was rather promising bringing in proven players from this division that manager Alan Dowson had previously worked with alongside other faces who have proved their worth.

2- How’s life been for Woking so far in that National League South?

Life in the Conference South has got off to a flying start having only dropped 3 points so far, a few of the results have been hard worked for as well with the team not playing to their full potential, so when that happens i’m really excited to see what they can deliver against some of the other sides in this division who will be up the top come the end of the season.

3 – Who’s the star man to look out for?

I don’t think there is one man in particular to look out for really as any one of them have the ability to produce something spectacular that can change/save the game whether that be a goal from the forward, a tackle by a midfielder, a block by a defender or save from the goalkeeper.

4 – What do you make of Concord Rangers?

I’m not too familiar with Concord Rangers as a club to be honest, this will also be my first visit so i’m looking forward to that as it’s an opportunity to tick off another non-league ground but I know you have started well so it’s not going to be an easy game for us at all and could quite easily go either way

5 – What’s the hopes for the season?

Having been one of the relegated teams from the league above I think majority of Woking fans had high hopes for this season from the very start, but obviously thats not how this league works by an means. We did good business in the summer bringing in fresh players, management and backroom staff which is showing so far, from here we just have to keep going into every game with the mentality to win and that way the league would be ours to lose being 5 points clear at the time of writing this.

5 – What’s Your predicting starting 11 for Saturday afternoon?

I’d like to think it would be similar to the team that lined up and beat Billericay last week but Dowse is clever with his selections and can change from week to week regardless of how the team are playing so it’s unpredictable with what he’s going to go with. However what ever 11 players he sticks out there i’m sure we’re in for a good game between two sides in and around the top of the league at this stage of the season.
