Tomorrow afternoon we host 1st placed, Woking at the Aspect Arena, the ‘Cards’ have got off to a flying start, losing only 1 game (Against Wealdstone) and beating a number of strong sides including league favourites, Billericay Town.

Summer recruitment couldn’t of gone any better according to some of the Woking faithful, with the appointment of Alan ‘Dowse’ Dowson and his assistant, Martin Tyler (Yes the commentator) they’ve signed a number of prolific players including that of Max Kretzschmar who’s certainly made his mark at the Laithwaite Community Stadium in his second spell for the club.

The two sides met twice last season despite being in two different leagues, the first was in the 4th qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup where the Beachboys held an impressive draw away from home, the replay at the Aspect Arena saw a great Crowd turn up but it wasn’t to be as the ‘Cards’ got a late winner and progressed onto the next round.

The Beachboys have won two of the last five matches, drawing one and losing two, in the last five games Sammy Moore’s Concord Army have beaten the likes of Dartford and Hungerford. We’ve scored eight goals in the last five, conceding a disappointing ten goals.

Meanwhile our visitors are unbeaten in four, in the last five games they’ve won four and lost one (away to Wealdstone) scoring nine goals in five games and conceding an impressive four goals. Wins over Hemel Hempstead, Eastbourne Borough, Billericay Town and Truro City put the Surrey side as firm favourites going into this game.

We spoke to Midfielder, Billy Knott to get his take on Saturdays game:

Billy, the last two results haven’t been what we expected, is it a case of turning the tides?

“I Don’t think it’s turning the tides I think we know as a squad it’s not been good enough and we just need to start another little run of games where we go unbeaten… that starts tomorrow with Woking!”

The crowds are going up and up which each game that passes, what’s your message to the fans?

“Our fans have been great home and away, we had a good start but recently we’ve had a few blips… Saturday will be a good game they (Woking) are flying and we need to bounce back so come and support in numbers it will help us massively!”

What’s been your thoughts on the squad and what they’ve been like to you?

“The squad have been great as has everyone round the place, I’m not gonna lie I’ve had some hard days in my self but being around a great bunch of lads and people around the club, it’s helping and hopefully we can get back on the winning road and and start another little run of wins”
