Billericay Town Colts u12   0 – 2    CONCORD RANGERS  u12

BaileyP, Nathan

Billericay Town provided a much tougher test that Rayleigh for the u12 team but the length of the grass on the pitch was disappointingly long, but nevertheless was the same for both teams.

Concord started playing down the slope and dominated play having several opportunities and was unlucky not to take the lead.  However the home side were pinned back as Concord pressed high and didn’t allow them to clear their lines effectively.  Although when the odd attack that did come the defensive team of Concord coped well and cleared the danger.

On the break-up of one of these rare attacks the team played some fine quick passing football down the left which resulted in Concord taking the lead from a corner headed in at the far post by BaileyP.  Concord were unlucky not to turnaround with more goals, having several opportunities to add to the goal tally.

At the break a few changes were made and from the KO there were exchanges of attacking football from both sides, but a renewed Billericay team attacked fiercely down the slope on several occasions seeking the equaliser and going close a few times, but which the Concord back three of BaileyR, Loui and Romie (the keeper) were the outstanding trio of the match being particularly effective in nullifying the Billericay attacking force and clearing up any attacking threat.

Concord’s continuous attacking down the flanks caused the home side problems and eventually the defenders couldn’t cope with the pressure and Sam’s pass found Nathan who was brought down in the box and Loui smashed the resulting penalty into the corner for Concord’s 2nd goal.
