Concord Rangers 2
Chiedozie 29, 59
Hemel Hempstead 0
Concord cruise to victory and pulled themselves further clear of the drop zone on a bright sunny day at the Aspect Arena.
Both sides dealt well with the tricky windy conditions and it was the hosts who held the slight initiative. A free flowing move saw Steve Cawley hit a low shot which was saved by Jamie Butler.
Hemel enjoyed a fair share of possession but failed to create, before Concord found the lead. A wide ball swung in found Cawley who looped a header over the oncoming Butler into the path of Jordan Chiedozie who made short work of the finish.
Bailey Vose made a simple stop to a rare Hemel attack and the Beachboys came close to doubling their lead as Dion Sembie-Ferris ghosted down the right before setting up Amos Nasha who’s near post poke was well saved by Butler.
The hosts took the game away from the Tudors in the second half and they came close to making it two as Chiedozie was set through on the right but scuffed his shot wide of the post. They did however double the lead when Chiedozie made a marauding run and was mercilessly chopped down on the edge of the box, brushed himself off and placed the resulting free-kick cleanly into the top left corner.
Cawley had a golden chance to wrap things up early when taking control of an awkward long ball forward and saw his attempted lob saved by the fingertips of Butler.
Hemel drop to 12th with this result as Concord rise to 15th.
