Vanarama National League South
Concord Rangers 3
Weston Super-Mare 0
It was three and easy for the hosting Beachboys as they rolled over a dejected Weston Super-Mare at a sunny Aspect Arena.
Concord were the superior of the two sides today and the gulf in class was evident from the off. Assistant manager Jack Midson opened the scoring when he brought down Connor Essam’s squared header and thumped the ball home between a crowd of bodies.
The lead was doubled when the impressive Joan Luque squeezed the ball past Luke Purnell at a tight angle.
Sam Ashford for the hosts was full of energy and he almost added a third but for a magnificent save by Purnell denying him.
Concord were ruthless in their approach and came a whisker away from adding to their lead when Danny Green struck a low stinger which slapped the left side post.
Ashford eventually was rewarded for his efforts in the second half when he timed it perfectly to finish off Luque’s squared cross come shot and with it wrap up proceedings. Weston foot the table and are down but not quite out as Concord move to within a point of the play-off positions.
