Vanarama National League South
Concord Rangers 1
Nouble 63 (Pen)
Ht 0-0, Att 971
What with the Princes Park pitch getting the better of the wet winters weather we were treated to a thrilling meeting between the two NLS mid table sides.
Wave like flow with entertaining end to end football ensued for the first half, with both defences displaying frailties. Kit Elliott saw his snap shot saved by Alhaji Sesay in the Darts goal while at the other end the hosts were awarded a penalty for a lazy attempt at a tackle. Elliott Romain squandering the opportunity though as his spot kick hit the woodwork.
It was much of the same in the second period, with plenty of goal threatening action and it was Concord who took the lead. Elliott latched onto a excellent cutting ball by Joel Nouble to then be hacked down mercilessly by Sesay resulting in a spot kick. Nouble stepped up and duly belted the resultant penalty into the corner to rapturous noise.
Lamar Reynolds caused concern for the most part and came close to doubling the lead before Dartford began their attempted fightback. Plaudits lay with Chris Haigh and Jack Cawley who came to the rescue during a late flurry of host chance creation but it wasn’t to be and the visiting Beachboys walked away victorious.
