Fresh from beating Basingstoke 5-0 we spoke with manager Adam Flanagan to get his thoughts on the game.

How pleasing was Saturday’s performance, and what aspect of it were you happiest about the most?

Going into the game and taking into account the league positions of both sides, it was game we should be winning, so to actually win it was the first most pleasing thing.  Another clean sheet as well, however we need to continue working hard and to improve our defensive record further.  I am also pleased with how well the partnership of Ben Greenhalgh and Steve Cawley is working and hope the form they are currently showing continues.

What did you say to the boys at half time, as they came flying out of the traps in the second half?

We generally felt we were unlucky not to have scored in the first half, so it was just a question of them asking to do the same going forward and the goals will come, whilst being vigilant and concentrated at the back.  Thankfully both paid off.

As you’ve mentioned is the clean sheet as important to you, as the five goals scored?

Clean sheets are hugely important to me.  I’m not happy with the goals against column at the moment.  We are starting to get a settled back line now and hopefully that will lead to more clean sheets going forward.
