Tomorrow the Beachboys are back in Vanarama National League South action as they make their first trip to Gloucester City.
Concord Rangers go into the game tomorrow on the back of a tough and disappointing 1-0 loss last weekend having made the long journey down to Weston-super-Mare. After losing just 1 of the previous 16 fixtures before last weekend, the Beachboys will be looking to avoid their first back to back league losses since September and get right back to winning ways this coming Saturday afternoon.
Gloucester City are looking to make it three league games unbeaten as they head into the game this Saturday, having beaten Welling United 3-2 away from home last weekend and prior to that playing out a 2-2 draw at home to Poole Town. City currently sit in 19th in the league, 5 places and 4 points behind Concord Rangers, and just 2 points clear of the bottom three, albeit with 2 games in hand over Poole Town in 20th.
The last time the two sides met was back on November 4th at the Aspect Arena, when the two sides played out a 1-1 draw, which at the time was Concord Rangers’ 6th league draw in a row! Steve Cawley was on the mark for the Beachboys that day, and he’ll be hoping to add a couple more goals to his tally this weekend.
Gloucester City currently ground-share with Evesham United at the Jubilee Stadium, and it’s around a 3 hour drive to get there. First off head to the M25 either by the A13 or A127, then go northbound/anti-clockwise on the motorway for approx. 45 miles. When you hit junction 16 exit the M25 and join the M40 towards Birmingham/Oxford. At junction 15 of the M40, take the A429/A46 exit to Warwick/Stratford/Coventry. You then continue along the A46 for around 26 miles, crossing a number of roundabouts until you join Cheltenham Road (A4184), and the ground will be on your left.
By rail it’s another 2 hours out of London, once again using Great Western Railway services from London Paddington. The ground is a solid 30 minute walk from the station, or a 10 minute cab.
Admission prices for Gloucester City are as follows: Adults £13, Concessions £7, 13-17 year-olds £7, U12s FREE.
