Joe Payne joined the Club last week on a permanent basis after leaving Potters Bar Town. The full-back played against Concord Rangers in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round in October when the Beach Boys won 2-1. See what he had to say to Euan Rourke about arriving at the Club.

How does it feel to sign for Concord Rangers?

I’m really excited to get started. I’m looking forward to kicking on and helping the team finish as high as possible in the league.

Why did you join the club?

I’m hungry to play football! When the chance came up to sign, it was a no brainer, especially with step three not carrying on. I’ve heard good things about the club and I see a lot of players kick on so let’s see what happens!

Having not played competitive football for over a month, how do you feel about making your first appearance for the club?

Yeah I’m buzzing to get back on the pitch. I’ve been staying sharp so fingers crossed I can help the team win football matches as soon as possible.

Tell us about yourself, what do you bring to the team?

I like to think I’ll give everything for the team and run through brick walls to win, I love to take a set piece. I enjoy defending first and then I concentrate on attacking.

You played against Concord in the FA Cup, what did you think of the team?

It was a good game, definitely a tough one! But both teams were organised and it was a proper FA cup game!
