Concord cruise to victory, continuing their fine run of form in the process with a strong and dominating performance over visiting City.

Taylor Miles took the plaudits, coming in for the suspended England C man Alex Woodyard, notching a brace to help his side into 9th in the Vanarama Conference South table.

Miles opened the scoring early when he curled a wide free kick over the wall and inside the near post.

St Albans struggled to create openings but their best chance of the half came with Josh Vickers making a smart low stop to deny a strike out of a goalmouth scramble.

The hosts put their foot down in the second half though and took the game away from City as Sam Collins added a second. The ball was set and he stroked the ball effortlessly, left footed into the bottom right corner.

Concord turned the screw and the points were secure when Miles helped himself to his second, reacting first to a Jeremy Walker cut back to complete a flowing attack with a smart right foot finish to the left corner.

Captain Steve King came close to heading a fourth before Vickers at the other end made a spectacular stop to keep out a powerful Jemal Lowe strike.

Lowe did however score a consolation penalty late on as Walker was adjudged to have handled in the area. He struck confidently inside the bottom left.

The hosts enjoyed their largest home league game crowd of the season on a successful annual Community Day which saw the Premier League Trophy on display at the Aspect Arena.
