CONCORD slumped to defeat after squandering a hatful of second-half chances, and with it see their play off hopes ended for season.
Hayes – buoyed by the news they had secured another season in the league last week – started brightest and took the lead through Christian Smith, who powered a header inside the near post from a well delivered corner.
Greg Morgan saw red in the 35th minute for the visitors after stupidly deciding to headbutt Danny Glozier in full view of the assistant referee and a crowd of 326.
But the Beachboys have proved to be lacklustre with the man advantage this season and they continued that trend on this bright and breezy Saturday afternoon.
Gary Ogilvie almost drew level soon after the restart as he slid in – only to see his effort blocked off the line.
Tony Stokes had a glorious opportunity to hit back when a perfect first touch left him a close range volley – which he blazed high over the crossbar.
Concord fashioned another excellent passing move which culminated with Steve Cawley curling a first time effort millimetres wide of the right hand post.
But it was not to be for the hosts as the visitors went home with a fortuitous 3 points.
