After the events of Boxing Day, Concord Rangers are back in action this coming Monday, New Year’s Day, as the lads travel down the road to take on East Thurrock United.

Concord Rangers last full game saw them extend their unbeaten league run to 11 games with a hard-fought 1-1 draw away at Hemel Hempstead Town. The Beachboys took the lead through a superb strike from Steve Cawley but were pegged back to split the points. Concord now sit 18th in the league on 24 points with many other clubs having full fixtures this past Boxing Day.

East Thurrock United currently sit 9th in the league, 3 points out of the now extended playoff spots. Prior to Xmas the Rocks were victorious against league strugglers Whitehawk, beating them 4-2 on Saturday 23rd December, which was a welcome turnaround having lost their previous league fixture 5-1 against Hampton & Richmond Borough.

If you wish to travel to Rookery Hill by train, you’ll need to make the short trip from Benfleet to Stanford Le Hope, and then it’s another 8 minutes in a cab from the station, however the price of said cab may be increased given that it’ll be New Year’s Day.

It’s a short and fairly simple journey by car too when travelling from Concord Island. Head off the island to the A13 and head towards Basildon. Come off the A13 at Five Bells and take the second exit from the first roundabout then head straight on to join the B1420. At the roundabout take the first exit and continue on the B1420/Southend Road. Remain on the B1420 and you’ll eventually reach East Thurrock Football Club on your right. Parking is limited though, so it’s advised to get there early.

Admission prices for East Thurrock United are as follows: Adults £12, OAP/Students £6, U16s £3, and there’s a family ticket for £25 which provides entry for any x2 Adults and x2 Children.
