With Vanarama National League South survival confirmed for another season, Concord Rangers will look to end the seasons home fixtures on a high as they host strugglers Gosport Borough this coming Saturday afternoon.
Borough lost 1-0 at home to Oxford City this past Easter Monday, making the task ahead of them a much tougher one in respect of league survival. This loss came on the back of a much needed 2-0 win over already relegated Bishop’s Stortford on Good Friday, now their only win 5 games. Gosport are just 2 points behind both Truro City and Whitehawk, and may well need other results to go their way in order to secure their place in this league for another year.
Concord Rangers secured their place in the National League South for 2017/18 with a resounding 3-0 home win over fellow strugglers Whitehawk on Easter Monday, a fitting response to the 5-0 drubbing they had in their last home game the previous week against Bath City. Sandwiched between those two results was a 2-0 away loss at league leaders Maidenhead United. The Beachboys will now look to make the final game at The Aspect Arena this season a positive one before the final day on April 29th.
The last time these two sides met, Concord Rangers were easy winners, earning a 5-2 victory on the back of a brace from Steve Cawley and a hat trick from Jordan Chiedozie.
