This Saturday afternoon sees us welcome Poole Town at The Aspect Arena in yet another crucial Vanarama National League South fixture.

The first fixture at the Black Gold Stadium saw our hosts in 18th place whilst we were lying in 20th in which a first half goal from Ben Greenhalgh secured a 1-1 draw in October 2017.

We come into this game following a 2-1 victory against Bognor Regis Town on Tuesday night and lie in 18th place whilst our visitors come into this off a 1-0 defeat to Hampton & Richmond Borough on Tuesday night. They are placed in 21st.

A win for the Beachboys would mean we would consolidate our place in 18th with 46 points at least. Depending on if Oxford suffer defeat to Bognor and Eastbourne suffer defeat at Hemel Hempstead, we could go up to 16th place with the potential of being 4 points off East Thurrock, Chippenham Town and Gloucester City. It could also provide a bigger gap for us over Hungerford Town who are 3 points behind us. (We play Hungerford on Tuesday night in our final home match of the season)

All we require is a point tonight to move us out of reach of the final relegation spot, and secure a sixth season in the second tier of non-league football,

Things are tight at the bottom of the table, with just one remaining relegation place left up for grabs after Whitehawk’s loss at Braintree on Tuesday night ultimately relegated them back to the Isthmian Premier. The last spot could be down to between Poole and Hungerford and we have a massive say in how the season could turn out for both sides.

We wish a safe journey to everyone from Poole and hope they have an enjoyable day!
