Following the conclusion of the 20/21 season, there has been a couple of changes to the First team coaching staff ahead of the 21/22 National League South season.

Firstly Head Coach James Roach has chosen to depart the Beachboys to focus on projects outside of Football. Roach who started his coaching career at West Hame United just 6 years ago joined the Beachboys at the start of the 19/20 season and played an integral role in the Beachboys historic run to the FA Trophy Final.

On this departure first-team manager, Danny Scopes had this to say, ‘It was a no brainer to add Roachy to my management team when I took the job. He has proven to be a real asset over the last two season especially with our FA Trophy success and run to the FA Cup 1st round this season. In all, he does he is very tactically aware and will be missed by us all. He will be welcome back to the Aspect anytime he wants by everyone at the Football Club.’

Stepping in to take over from Roach the Beachboys are pleased to announce that Craig Shipman. Shipman comes with a wealth of experience having coached at Cortland State University in New York. As well as this he’s coached the Hornchurch U18’s and Great Wakering U23’s. Following on from this he became a 1st team coach at Brentwood before becoming the manager for 2 years. Craig has worked alongside the rest of the Coaching team in the build-up to the FA Trophy Final.

On the appointment of Craig first-team manager, Danny Scopes had this to say, ‘Craig has been around non-league as a coach and manager and I have always admired his work. I’d like to say a big thank you to Steve Butterworth at Great Wakering for allowing us to talk to Craig about the role. Craig will help develop us on the grass in areas we feel we need to add as a team, he deserves the chance to step up to the National League South and I look forward to working with him.
