Welcome to View From The Opposition. This is our website feature that we will be putting out every week ahead of our upcoming matches this season. Saturday afternoon sees the Beachboys travelling to the ‘Stones’ A.K.A Wealdstone, for our 6th Vanarama National League South game of the season so here’s the view of one of the Wealdstone fans

Wealdstone, managed by former Hungerford Town boss, Bobby Wilkinson currently sit in 5th place on 10 out of a possible 15 points, impressive victories over Woking and Dartford have surprised many rival teams aswell as impressing the home crowd which is evident in their 2 home games having a gate of 750 and 1,323!

We spoke with ‘Stones’ fans, Craig Whitehead to find out a little more about the club and how they feel about the match:

1 – What has it been like supporting Wealdstone over the last few years?

The last 10 years have been very good, 1 promotion, some good FA Cup and 2 Fa trophy semi finals. Last year was a transition year as our manager of 22 years Gordon Bartlett was replaced by ex Hungerford manager Bobby Wilkinson. Tomorrow is his 1 year anniversary and has had 18 wins at home during that time.

2- How Do Think Pre-Season Went For The Club?

One of the best in recent times looked very fit and had some decent results against conference teams.

3 – What Are Your Hopes For The Season Ahead?

A playoff place for me personally considering the big spending clubs of Billericay, yourselves, Woking and Torquay. To be in the mix at the end of the season would be great.

We’re not sure about that, Craig!

4 – Who are the key players that we should be looking out for this Saturday?

Jonathan North who will make his 350th appearance for the club if he plays on Saturday. Godfrey Poku and  Wadah Ahmidi  have both impressed in pre-season and look out for Bradley Bubb upfront!

5 – What Is Your Predicting Starting 11 For The Game?

Tyler Grant Stevens Okimo
Poku Ahmidi Monakana Green
Pratt Bubb

Wilson Sheppard Lench Thomas White
