Former Bournemouth Academy defender, Tom Hanfrey, signs for the Club!

The 19-year-old has signed in time to feature this weekend in the big Emirates FA Cup game against Potters Bar Town.

Read his first interview as a Concord player below!

Why did you sign for Concord?

I have always been in an Academy set up where it’s known to be “pretty football”. The main reason I wanted to sign at Concord was to be exposed to playing men’s football, I felt like this is what I needed to add to my game moving forward, to gain that level of experience at 19-years-old is important. I also found my self really comfortable around the lads and in the team straight away, that kind of hit the nail on the head for me. The more comfortable and the better the atmosphere, the easier it is for myself to get the best out of me.

You must be happy signing for the Club?

Yes I am very happy! I’m so grateful for the opportunity, hopefully I can repay Concord by helping them climb the ladder this season.

With the FA Cup this weekend and an opportunity to make your competitive debut. How you feeling about the game?

I’m buzzing! I can’t wait to be honest, I strive off the big games. It’s sad that we can’t have the fans there to support us, but I’m sure all the boys will be fired up anyway!

What are you goals for this season?

To learn as much as I can from the likes of the experienced boys like Tyrone Sterling, and to try get as many starts as I can to help the team climb up the table. As a player, I love getting forward and getting assists so hopefully I can contribute to the team and aim to get around 10 assists this season.
