CONCORD have been given a boost heading into tomorrow’s FA Trophy trip to Hemel Hempstead with an extension of keeper Josh Vickers’ loan from Arsenal until the end of the season.

Vickers (picture above courtesy of Arsenal FC), who has impressed with Rangers since making his debut for the club in an FA Cup tie with Mansfield in November, will continue to cover for the injured Jamie Butler.

The Basildon-born Gunner, who played on loan for Canvey last season, will be hoping for a clean sheet when Concord head to Vauxhall Road tomorrow.

Vanarama South rivals Hemel have put together an impressive 13-game unbeaten run at home – their last defeat on their own soil was when they went down 2-1 to Concord in August.

Concord crushed a young Barnet side 6-1 at The Hive in the last round, while the Tudors beat Sutton 1-0 at home to progress.

The winners will get £6,000 prize money and Concord manager Danny Cowley told the FA website: “This is the furthest we’ve been in the Trophy and the prestige and money is massive for a small club like us.”
