One of the first player’s to sign up for the Beachboys 2016/2017 campaign was the Captain, James White.

We spoke to James, to ask him what were the key factors in him signing and what are his hopes for next season – and here is what he had to say…

How happy are you to sign on for the club for another season?

It’s great signing for the club again this year, there were discussions going on at the tail end of the season so had some time to review and think. Like I have always said as well as others, it’s a great club so why ruin a good thing.

What was the most important factor in you re-signing?

This would be the people at the club firstly as for me, if the surroundings are not right then I think this affects how you play, I’ve played some of my best football with Concord and obviously want to continue to do so. It’s also local for me which helps with my work commitments and also that my family love the club, all these factors are taken into account.

With you signing up early, does that show the club’s intent for next season?

Yeah, as I said had discussion with Concord early on and even with the other offers this was an easy decision. As a team we had another good season last year and very close to really pushing for the play-off’s so I think with a few tweaks we can achieve what the club is capable of. We have seen Lewis Taaffe leave which is a shame because he is a great mate/ player but pre-season will be important to see what additions arrive.
