Sam Beasant started his 1st team career with now current national league side, Maidenhead United, the then 23-year-old had an impressive spell with ‘Magpies’ keeping a number of clean sheets. This gained him a move to Woking, during the second half of the season Sam only managed to pick up three 1st team appearances for the ‘Cards’. Sam decided to make a move up to Essex side, Billericay Town in which he picked up 17 appearances and with a number of impressive displays it gained him a move back to Woking FC.
Following an all-round good season with Woking (Where he made 32 appearances) he’d caught the eye of a number of clubs including Football league side, Stevenage who went onto sign Sam. Beasant shared his goalkeeping duties with Chris Day however on the opening match of the season at home to Hartlepool united he was chosen to start and kept a clean sheet on his debut. Sam went onto make a further 7 appearances over the course of the season before being released. League football didn’t stop there for Beasant as he was swiftly snapped up by fellow league 2 side, Cambridge United where he signed a 1-year deal. Sam appeared 15 times in the 4th tier of English football before being released at the end of the season.
The following season Sam was in between the sticks for National league side, Braintree Town where he played alongside the likes of Sean Clohessy and Jack Midson. Sam went onto player 28 appearances for ‘The Iron’ but despite his attempts they were relegated into the National league South, despite being relegated Sam also appeared in Braintree’s FA Cup 2nd round tie against Millwall.
Sam Beasant (Son of former England, Newcastle and Chelsea goalkeeper, Dave Beasant) started the 2017/18 season with Chelmsford City, he was a regular name on the team sheet for the ‘Clarets’ and by the end of the season he’d appeared 35 times for them, helping them to the play off semi final where they lost to Hampton and Richmond Borough.
Sam over his career has become a fans favourite with a number of clubs such as Woking due to his good performances and kind nature.
On the 17th of May Sam Beasant joined us (Concord Rangers) he could make his debut as early as the 7th of July where we travel to Brentwood Town for our first game of pre season.
